Last week I had the opportunity to attend the textiles trade show Première Vision in Paris. I got to see the fabric, color, accessory and graphic design trends for Fall Winter 2017/2018. I compiled a mood board with some the my favorite large scale trends I noticed that will serve as my inspiration for outfits and shopping this coming Fall. I could not have been able to see this show at a better time.
As far as fabrics go I saw a lot of metallics and florals in jacquard as well as sheer fabrics. Embellishments on fabrics was also huge, specifically insect and flower embellishments in the form of patches, beading and even feathers. My favorite had to be the honey bees I saw on everything. Sheer foiled floral fabrics like the one used in the gold and blue dress shown above were literally everywhere and they were B. E. A. uuuuutiful. Along with the raspberry and pink paring, I saw a deep navy suede that was so perfect I wanted to buy and entire bolt of it just to have.
Color trends varied, but some of my favorites were muted natural colors as well as deep jewel tones like raspberry and navy. I saw light, muted pinks paired with raspberry everywhere, and it was by far my favorite combination. As I mentioned before metallics were huge, and while I saw coppery, silver and gold metallics, gold by far was the most widely used throughout not only fabrics, but we as well as shoe and accessories.
The shoe and accessories booths were what I was most excited to check out. Once again gold was EVERYWHERE. I saw it in block heels, purse hardware and even sneaker shoe laces. Patches once again were a big thing as well, adorning bags and even shoes. The floral trend was even translated to the shoes too in the form of an acrylic block heel with flowers you could see inside of it. Belts are going to be big this coming season, especially these leather wrap belts I have already been seeing in stores.
