The Best of: Florence, Italy
Here is the start of a 3 part series I am doing on some of my favorite finds in Florence. Obviously we are in Italy, I was bound to find some phenomenal food. In part one I am sharing with you 3 places that I absolutely love in the city.
This French restaurant/ concept store/ flower shop is without a doubt the most beautiful place I have ever eaten. They serve both brunch and dinner, and although it is on the pricey side, it is well worth a visit (or 10). From the amazing decor and food to the piano playing in the background of your dinner, your money is not going to waste.
I stumbled upon this tiny cafe one day after class, and it quickly became one of my favorite places to escape for some alone time. Cecilia's is an all natural foods cafe that offers a small menu of breakfast and snack options as well as coffee and smoothies. Although the food in Florence is amazing, it is not so amazing for my health, so finding somewhere that has healthy options has been a blessing. Cecilia's is also down an alley, and away from a lot of the bustle of the city making it a perfect place to relax.
Don Nino's may take the cake for the most visited place in the cities for my roomates and I. We go there so much that we are greeted by the man who works there with "Oh you're back again?!" when we go there now, it's getting a little out of hand. Don Nino is a chain cafe/ bakery/ gelateria around Italy. A total tourist trap that is well worth paying almost double the average for a cup of gelato. In Florence it is located in the Piazza del Duomo, you can't miss it. It can cure literally any sweet tooth and the wafer dipped in chocolate is without a doubt the best part.
